The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria has won the right to host the 22nd World Conference of Banking Institutes which will take place in 2017.

The Institute was pronounced the winner of the right to host the global event after presentation to the delegates by Otunba (Mrs) Debola Osibogun, FCIB, the President/Chairman of Council, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, at the ongoing 21st edition of the WCIB conference, in Seoul, South Korea, organised by the Korean Institute of Bankers.

The presentation was witnessed by the delegation from Nigeria, officials of the Nigerian Embassy in South Korea and some other Africans among whom were Mr. Momoh Sheidu Omeiza, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Nigeria in Republic of Korea, Dr. Joseph Nnanna, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria; Mr. Seye Awojobi, Registrar/CE, CIBN and Dr. Friday Ohuche, Central Bank of Nigeria; Otunba Deji Osibogun, Chairman/CEO, Space FM.

“I consider it a great privilege and honour for CIBN and indeed Nigeria to be considered and given the platform to host this important event for the global financial institutions”, Otunba (Mrs) Osibogun, said.
